Perplexity, a leading AI-powered search and information platform, today announced the launch of Perplexity Health, marking the company’s official entry into the rapidly growing consumer health AI market. The launch positions Perplexity alongside major tech players such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Amazon, all competing to redefine how AI informs personal health and longevity.
Perplexity Health is designed to consolidate fragmented health data from multiple sources—including provider portals, lab accounts, pharmacy apps, and wearable devices—into a single, personalized dashboard. By integrating medical records, lab results, and daily activity metrics, the platform allows users to gain actionable insights into their health and track biomarker trends over time.
“Our goal with Perplexity Health is to turn scattered health information into meaningful, individualized insights,” said [Spokesperson Name], CEO of Perplexity. “By connecting AI to the data people already generate every day, we can help users make informed decisions about prevention, wellness, and longevity.”
The platform operates as a suite of connectors, linking Perplexity Computer, the company’s AI agent platform, to Apple Health, electronic health records from care providers, and data platforms such as Fitbit, Ultrahuman, and Withings. For example, questions about resting heart rate are answered in the context of recent activity, cardiac history, and bloodwork, rather than in isolation.
Perplexity Health emphasizes responsible AI usage. Clear guardrails guide users on when to seek professional care, and AI is not positioned as a substitute for clinicians. To ensure evidence-based practices, the company has established the Perplexity Health Advisory Board, featuring physicians, researchers, and health technology experts, including renowned longevity scientist Dr. Eric Topol, author of Super Agers. The board will oversee the platform’s safeguards and product decisions.
Privacy and data security are central to the platform. Health data is encrypted, protected with strict access controls, and managed with user-first tools that allow data deletion or disconnection at any time. Importantly, Perplexity Health data will not be used to train AI models or sold to third parties.
Healthcare partners are already integrating with Perplexity Health. Function, a consumer preventive health platform, will enable members to securely connect lab results and clinician-reviewed summaries with Perplexity Health, combining them with activity and medical records for a holistic view.
“AI is most powerful when it’s personal,” said Function CEO Jonathan Swerdlin. “By connecting Function members’ health data to Perplexity Health, we’re creating a new intelligence layer that transforms disconnected information into answers people can trust and act on.”
Perplexity Health will initially roll out to Pro and Max users in the US over the coming weeks, with broader access and additional geographies planned in future phases.
